Little Sharks
Long Eaton Swimming Club takes anyone from the age of 5. All children develop the basic techniques of all four swimming strokes: breaststroke; freestyle; backstroke and butterfly. Children build confidence and water safety in the lessons while having fun and developing their strokes. Swimming is a very inclusive activity and we welcome people of all abilities.
Our groups are made up of a similar level of competence in each group to give the best teaching possible to your child. We have an excellent team of experienced volunteer teachers to help cater for your child’s swimming needs and allow every swimmer to progresses at their own pace.
In July each year there is the annual club championships where everyone in the club has the chance to race against people in their age group and if your child is 9 years old they could be picked to represent the club in galas throughout the year.
We offer two lessons per a week per a child, our lessons are on a Friday and a Sunday, we train at Trent College.
After completing the Long Eaton Little Sharks program swimmers progress to the Junior Development 1 squad where technique and stamina is further developed. Swimmers are then given more opportunities to progress through the club competing in a range of galas, taking part in Open Meets and Championships at County level and beyond as well as team galas.
For information on prices for our club please email members.lesc@hotmail.co.uk. Our Little Sharks Assessment Sessions take place on a Sunday at Trent College and must be booked in advance. During the assessment your child’s ability is assessed to make sure they get put in the correct group based upon their age and capabilities.
